In October of 2013, Brandon and Heidi announced their call to begin planting a church in East Temple that reaches across socio-economic and cultural barriers. Brandon and Heidi met in the summer of 1997 working with the Impact Houston congregation, a formative congregation with a similar mission.
Heidi graduated from Harding University (’96) with a degree in Elementary Education and Special Ed K-12. She taught at Sugar Grove Christian, Small Steps Nurturing Center, and is currently teaching kindergarten at Tarver Elementary.
Brandon graduated from ACU (’00) with a degree in Bible and from the University of Houston (’02) with a Master’s in Social Work. He served 9 months in CPS investigation and 11 years in youth and family ministry.
Brandon and Heidi have three children, Emma, Mason and Esther.
Caleb and Sarah Drake
Sarah and I bought a house in East Temple in the fall of 2011. We were newly weds and excited about starting a new chapter of life. At that time, we felt God was calling us to be intentional about where we made our home. It wasn’t until almost 4 years later that God presented us with Impact Temple.
Sarah and I are both UMHB alumni. Sarah graduated from Baylor with a Master’s of Social Work in 2010. She is currently working as a clinical oncology social worker through the Cancer Center at Baylor Scott & White.
I am currently wrapping up my Master’s of Theological Studies at George W. Truett Theological Seminary with plans to graduate in December.
We have attended and served as volunteers through our home church, Vista Community Church for the past 5 years. I also had the opportunity to serve as interim youth minister for 10 months in 2014 at FBC in Holland, Texas.
Sarah and I are passionate about seeing the Church live out its mission to the most marginalized within our community. We are excited to join in the work and vision of Impact Temple.
We have four children, Milo, Otis, Remi, and Sissy.
